Welcome Assessment

•$100•

All first time customers with Peace Love Petcare must complete a personality and health assessment of your pet to ensure he/she is the right fit for our play group and vise versa.  Dogs are a BIG deal to us and Welcome Assessments help make sure your dog is comfortable while visiting Peace Love Petcare. While we strongly believe that there is no such thing as a bad breed or a bad dog, not every dog is suited for our off-leash, open-play environment. We cannot accept dogs with any history of aggression.

What to expect:

1.Your Welcome Assessment is a scheduled event that is conducted in 1 hour. Please note we only take one dog a day for a Welcome Assessment so please be patient when scheduling. You may receive an error when booking due to capacity restraints.  Please push through and you will be placed on a waitlist.  If you are put on the waitlist, please feel free to book additional requests and we will get you in soon as possible.  We must have current up to date vaccine records prior to accepting any request. Payment is due when the Welcome Assessment is accepted by Peace Love Petcare.

2. Please drop off your pup at the beginning of your scheduled time block.  Please be prompt and notify us as soon as possible if you will be late. If you arrive early, please leave your dog in the car until the play yard is empty. We want your dog to be able to walk up to the yard peacefully! All drop offs are outside. Just come down the sidewalk and enter the first gate, someone will be with you quickly.

3. Peace Love Petcare is a collar free play environment. Please remove your dog’s collar and/ or harness and leash.

4. Please exit the premises. If your dog can see, hear, or smell you, we may not be able to make a proper observation on how they will act in our facility. We will allow your dog to smell the yard and meet staff. When ready, we will introduce new dogs gradually based on your dog’s comfort level and temperament. We observe how they interact with the other dogs and staff to assess their comfort with an open-play environment.

4.After the 1 hour assessment is complete, please come pick up your dog. We will briefly discuss your dog’s evaluation and any concerns. You will also receive a Report Card by email or text.

5. If your dog is not ready for open play, we can make recommendations on other options that may be more suitable for your dog and discuss potential steps you can take to help address the observed concern(s). Dogs that are easily overstimulated, stressed, fearful and/ or not socialized may not be a good fit for play groups. We are very transparent with our observations and will discuss any concerns.
